Cross Prairie K-8 School

School District of Osceola County

Cross Prairie K-8 School embraces a design that prioritizes high performance, energy efficiency, and a compact footprint that optimizes both space and function. Inspired by the geometry of origami, the three-story structure layers vibrant forms to evoke movement and spatial interplay.

As a cohesive K-8 school, the campus is designed to support students' growth as they progress from primary grades into middle school. Unified through thoughtful design, the building is anchored by a dedicated Enhanced Hurricane Protection Area (EHPA) housing the gymnasium, locker rooms, dining areas, and kitchen.
Central to the educational experience, the media center opens into a maker space designed to foster hands-on exploration and project-based learning, cultivating creativity and innovation. Adaptive, modular furnishings enable the space to transform fluidly, supporting individual study, small group collaboration, or lecture-style instruction, reinforcing the building’s dynamic and student-centered design.
