Naples Airport General Aviation Terminal Renovation

The Airport Authority

Inspired to evoke a feeling of coastal modernism that is hallmark of the Southwest Florida community it serves, the improvements to the Naples Airport General Aviation Terminal create a warm and welcoming first impression as a gateway to the region. The Airport Authority embarked on these renovations to enhance the customer experience, inspire and influence, create a lasting connection to the Paradise Coast.  The design was inspired by elements of the nearby Gulf of Mexico and the historic Naples Pier with a series of wave canopies, coastal features and color palette.

The renovation involved an upgraded lobby, expanded passenger lounge, new café / market, relocated flight planning space, and new pilot’s lounge. The inviting lobby includes a living green wall, an open area for seating, upgraded finishes and improved lines of sight to both the landside and airside. The second level features modernized offices and support spaces for Authority staff with improved functionality. From both the landside and airside, passengers are welcomed with covered drop-offs, thoughtful wayfinding and lush tropical landscaping.
The green living walls, double volume in height, are visible when you arrive at the second floor. This feature brings natural elements and daylight into the centralized interior space.
“The inspiration and vision of a modern, innovative terminal that also serves as a hub for public services, businesses, flight schools and engages with the community beyond just a travel destination was translated into the final design”
