SCHENKEL SHULTZ HEADQUARTERS
The new headquarters for Schenkel Shultz is the newest studio on Designer’s Row in Winter Park. This adaptive reuse project reimagines a former structure as an expression of craft, materiality, and purposeful design. With sustainability at its core, the space fosters collaboration, creativity, and our design process, while embracing the warmth of home. The visibility of the studio along Orange Avenue softens the streetscape and offers a view into our living room and gallery.

A palette of wood, graphite and textured materials evoking the tools of our craft, soften and shape the workplace. The sculptural desk made of hot-rolled steel unfurls like a roll of sketch paper upon entry, while a three-dimensional wall relief anchors the space with its bold texture and sense of movement. Crafted by local artisans, each piece deepens the connection to the community and celebrates the collaborative spirit and creative energy that shapes our design approach.

“Our new “home” is a true reflection of our design process and represents our work as creatives. It was important for us to lead by example and create an inspiring work environment that reflects our brand, culture and values.”Ekta P. Desai, AIA, Partner / Design Lead

Warm and cool tones ground the space. The communal spaces are arranged to connect as a sequence of spaces to promote porosity and connection between tasks and people. A bookshelf acts as a screen between community areas and houses objects and memories that we are proud of.

Color is a powerful design element woven throughout. Accents of our symbol anchor the space, blending brand identity with wayfinding.

Bleacher-style seating leads to the outdoor patio, visually connecting multiple custom murals, designed in-house.
